Girls trip to Krabi

I come home in the morning light
My mother says, "When you gonna live your life right?"
Oh mother dear we're not the fortunate ones
And girls, they wanna have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun

*Starting this post with this song actually playing in the background.

About 3 months ago, my girl pals and I flew to Krabi to celebrate our dear friend Aina’s end of singlehood. Even though she is to be wed in August, we all had to plan a super early hence party cause one of the coolest Mama is going to pop the oven.

Many may know Krabi is located in the south-west coast province of Thailand where one of the most beautiful beach, limestones and beautiful forest are located.

Every beach in Thailand has its unique feature and beauty. For Krabi what made it different from the rest was it rock climbing and night markets. Sadly we were unable to do rock climbing as it was raining a few days before and thought it would be hazardous for us to do it. But we manage to go to few different night markets.

Here I list down some of the fun stuff and places my friends and I hung out during our 3days 2 nights in this trip.

1. Transportation

Transportation is one thing that anyone should worry about in Krabi, as there are so many options that you could look into. From renting bikes to the famous Tuk Tuk or when all fails you know GRAB works the best.

2. Hotel

There are many hotels and resorts around the beach itself. Catering to the backpacker lifestyle to a fancy resort lifestyle. For us we stayed at this place called “Cliffhanger” http://www.sugarmarina-cliffhanger.com/ Irony of this hotel is that the hotel itself is inspired by Aina’s favourite hobby which is Rock Climbing. One thing I loved about the hotel is how clean it was with amazing services. And the best part of it all, it was just 10minutes walk away from the beach itself. Tell me how cool is that!

3. Food

It is inevitable to miss out Thai Cuisine when you are in Thailand. I believe that is all we did during the trip was to eat. From the famous Pad Thai to Tom Yam, name it we ate it. Truthfully it was pretty easy to find places to eat, especially in Ao Nang as you will be able to find amazing cafes and restaurants along the beach.

4. Entertainment

Krabi has its own distinctive nightlife that I would say is much more different than Phuket or even Bangkok and much calmer. Just by strolling down the beach itself you will be able to see many different bars. Our favourite was the Boogies Bar where they had a live band that played music in English to Spanish.

5. Beaches

There are many islands around Krabi and many of them could be covered by day trips. My girls and i decided to chill by one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand, called the Railay beach. Railay beach is on accessible by boat which gives is more of a exclusive kind of vibe. The most beautiful part of the beach is that it is surrounded by mountains.

6. Night Markets

Night markets in Thailand are a big thing, here you can not only try out all their cheap tasty local food but also shop for souvenirs at a great bargain. One of the best things about the Krabi night market is the lively vibe. One can just sit and watch live acts while enjoying amazing food.

If you are looking to get away for the weekend from all the hustle and bustle of life. I would highly recommend Krabi especially for families. I have to admit there are to Krabi that we have yet to explore. Never know, we might look into taking another trip to Krabi again.
